We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineers with significant work experience in GOOGLE CLOUD.

We prioritize passionate, hard-working, and talented developers who have experience supporting innovative, mission-critical, high-volume services. Many of the technologies you will work with are new, and you will be required to study and adapt to new technologies as a matter of routine.

The position is available for full-time remote employment and direct hire only. We do not provide visa sponsorship or C2C opportunities. The position requires significant real-time collaboration with team members working in UTC+6 & UTC+8 time zones.

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer is not a devops position, rather, Site Reliability Engineering is what happens when you ask a software engineers to design operations teams. Common to all SREs is the belief in, and aptitude for, developing software systems to solve complex problems.

What You Can Expect

Here at InfiniteWorld we place a 33% cap on the aggregate "ops" work for all SREs. This cap ensures that the SRE team has enough time in their schedule to make service stable and operable. This cap is an upper bound; over time, left to their own devices, the SRE team should end up with very little operational load and almost entirely engage in development tasks, because the service basically runs and repairs itself: we want systems that are automatic, not just automated.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years experience in Site Reliability or DevOps Engineering
    • Experience in Cloud Native environments is a major plus
  • Experience with mainline programming and scripting languages including Python, C, Rust, and Go
  • High level knowledge of IP networking, including fluency with a modernized service networking layer like Istio, as well as VPNs, DNS, load balancers, and firewalls
  • Hands-on experience developing cloud infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Packer
  • Proficient with Git and building CI/CD pipelines to automate workflows
  • Experience with traditional cloud logging, tracing, and monitoring tools such as Splunk, OpenTracing, or Stackdriver
  • Good fundamental knowledge of cryptography, and the principles of secure computing
  • Able to work in a diverse and highly experienced team

    • Understanding of microservices architecture and container orchestration with Kubernetes
    • Experience with Service Mesh Architectures
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to lead effectively across organizations and engagements
