DreamView is looking for a talented and well-rounded lawyer to join our team as our VP of Business & Legal Affairs. This is a high-growth opportunity that involves working closely with executives as well as other Departments at DreamView. Your legal advice will be essential to the smooth operations of the company.

This is a remote/telecommute position. The studio is 100% virtual and allows the applicant to work anywhere in the world!

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal representation to DreamView and act as a business partner to internal colleagues on a variety of legal and risk management issues
  • Advise the Executives on legal and risk matters
  • Set the strategy and goals for the legal team in alignment with the larger organizational goals of the company
  • Lead complex legal projects that span legal, business, and functional boundaries
  • Work cross-functionally to implement accessible terms of use, policies, and procedures
  • Develop and deliver training on legal issues, policies, and procedures to multi-level audiences in all departments
  • Overall legal responsibility and accountability including general corporate matters, transaction support, contract management, employment law, regulatory matters, risk management, and financing activities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements including End-User and Master Services License Agreements, Data Privacy Addendums, and Subcontractor/Partner Agreements, with domestic and international clients, partners, and vendors

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of legal experience
  • Law degree and member in good standing of the Law Society
  • Business Acumen acquired through experience in commercial contract review, drafting, and negotiation of vendor, marketplace, freight, and other agreements across jurisdictions, transactions including financings, acquisitions, partnerships, enterprise-wide risk mitigation, including managing regulatory matters and legal developments
  • Senior Management advisory experience
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex legal concepts and analysis and effectively translate those to non-lawyers
  • Flexible and able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities
  • Familiarity with internal/external legal budgets and spends
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset and working style
  • Experience in digital media, entertainment, or blockchain is a plus
